The Imagen Awards nominees are determined by an independent panel of entertainment industry executives and Latino community leaders.

The Imagen Foundation announced today the nominations for the 39th annual Imagen Awards. This year’s awards recognize an array of Latino talent with ground-breaking performances, storytelling, and powerful diverse programs. The award ceremony will take place on Sunday, September 8 at LA Plaza de Cultura y Artes in Los Angeles.

“We are thrilled to honor Latinos who made significant contributions to the television, film, and streaming spaces,” said Helen Hernandez, President of the Imagen Foundation. “As the Latino talent community is often overlooked in other major entertainment awards, we recognize the extraordinary caliber of talent and the diverse roles and projects that Latinos contribute to advance the industry.”

This year’s 152 nominations across 30 categories highlight powerful storytelling and exceptional performances by top Latino talent. Streamers Prime Video, Apple TV+, and Netflix earned the most nominations across various categories. The comedy series Acapulco from Apple TV+ received the most TV nominations with 9 nods. Prime Video’s A Million Miles Away received the most film nominations with a total of 8, including Best Actor for Michael Peña and Best Actress for Rosa Salazar. Netflix’s 14 nominations include accolades for Griselda, The Lincoln Lawyer, and El Último Vagón.

“The nominations received surpassed all expectations,” said Hernandez. “It is a proud moment and we congratulate this year’s nominees.”
